What is Silent Sound Spread Spectrum (SSSS) & the All-Digital TV Broadcast Signal: Connection?08/02/2011 19:43
Ever since first hearing of it last spring, I’ve had a deepening sense of foreboding – an unnamed dread of the upcoming shift to an all-digital television broadcast signal, scheduled to occur in February 2009. Now, I believe, that nameless dread may have a name, after all.
The Department of Defense calls it Silent Sound Spread Spectrum (SSSS), and it also goes by the name of S-quad or Squad. In the private sector, the technology goes by the name of Silent Subliminal Presentation System and the technology has also been released to certain corporate vendors who have attached catchy brand names like BrainSpeak
Silent Subliminals to their own SSSS-based products.
Whatever you call it, SSSS is a technology that uses subliminal programming that is carried over Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) broadcast waves, planting inaudible messages directly into the subconscious human mind.
Perfected more than twenty years ago by the Department of Defense and battlefield-tested upon unwitting Iraqi soldiers serving in the army of Saddam Hussein in the Gulf War during 1991, SSSS is a sinister weapon that may have been been developed for a specific mission: the total subjugation of the American people.
Whether SSSS is coupled with the new all-digital TV signal as its means of delivery into the minds of an unsuspecting U.S. populace or not, it can be deployed by many different devices, including HAARP and GWEN towers, which would effectively blanket the entire nation at once. In fact, Judy Wall says that “there is evidence that the US Government has plans to extend the range of this technology to envelop all peoples, all countries. This can be accomplished, is being accomplished, by utilising the nearly completed HAARP project for overseas areas and the GWEN network now in place in the US. The US Government denies all this.”
But the most insidious aspect of SSSS is that it is completely undetectable by those being targeted. Because it delivers its subliminal programming directly to the human brain via the auditory sense at frequencies that humans are incapable of perceiving as sound, there is no defense against it. Everyone on the planet is equally susceptible to mind control via SSSS and there isn’t any escape from it, as the UHF waves can be transmitted over very long distances from remotely located sources and will pass through walls and other objects as if they are not there. UHF is the frequency (100mhz) that has been used for television and radio broadcasting for as long as these media have existed. SSSS is designed to utilize UHF as a carrier wave.
Even more insidious, though, is the fact that, coupled with the use of supercomputers, an individual’s unique electroencephalographic (EEG) patterns can be digitally altered and then stored for rebroadcast via digital UHF. According to Judy Wall, editor and publisher of Resonance, the newsletter of the Bioelectromagnetics Special Interest Group, these computer-enhanced EEGs “can identify and isolate the brain’s low-amplitude ‘emotion signature clusters,’ synthesise them and store them on another computer. In other words, by studying the subtle characteristic brainwave patterns that occur when a subject experiences a particular emotion, scientists have been able to identify the concomitant brainwave pattern and can now duplicate it.” These modified emotion signature clusters can then be broadcast over UHF carrier frequencies (i.e., regular TV and radio signals) directly into the brain where they can then “silently trigger the same basic emotion in another human being.” In other words, if the emotional signature cluster for, say, a feeling of hopelessness and despair is being fed directly into your brain via unseen radio waves, you will feel those emotions. The implications of this are, quite literally, mind boggling.
In the realm of Psychology when doing research I have found there is quite a bit of information given on aggression. This information can be anything from disorders that are primarily characterized by aggressive episodes, to the ways in which we engage in warfare now-a-days. As I have learned about so far through a variety of readings there is a disorder referred to as Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder As described in Macnair’s The Psychology of Peace PTSD occurs when there has been a trauma, something that is so extreme it causes an acute reaction which becomes a chronic problem. This idea of being chronic is why PTSD starts with the word “post”. So what does this have to do with this hub? In Macnair’s book he refers to WW1 and when the soldiers first were diagnosed with this condition; it was originally referred to as “shell shock”(MacNair, 2003). While they go on to talk about how a person’s initial reaction in combat is to avoid shooting until absolutely necessary, there is also another option all together that was utilized in project Desert Storm. This technology I am referring to is something that I strongly feel should be researched more heavily, its something called “silent sound”.
To start off I would like to give a little background into silent sound which will demonstrate why it is applicable to the arena of peace psychology. In 1992 on October 27, a man by the name of Dr. Oliver Lowery of Norcross Virginia developed a silent subliminal presentation system based on a subliminal carrier technology referred to as the “Silent Sound Spread Spectrum”. Being patented as US Patent #5,159,703 the abstract for it reads as follows
"A silent communications system in which non-aural carriers, in the very low or very high audio-frequency range or in the adjacent ultrasonic frequency spectrum are amplitude- or frequency-modulated with the desired intelligence and propagated acoustically or vibrationally, for inducement into the brain, typically through the use of loudspeakers, earphones, or piezoelectric transducers. The modulated carriers may be transmitted directly in real time or may be conveniently recorded and stored on mechanical, magnetic, or optical media for delayed or repeated transmission to the listener." (Wall, 2010) What interested me so much about this idea of silent sound is the fact that it was actually used successfully apparently in Desert Storm. According to different research I have found that in order to test this technology the military used computerized EEGSs to identify and isolate the brains low amplitude “ emotion signature clusters” they then were synthesized and stored on another computer, essentially they determined which areas of the brain trigger which emotions, replicated them and piggybacked these emotions onto sound waves that were being played over the Iraqi radio stations (Wall, 2010). What happened because of this is what is truly unimaginable, in order to test this idea a special-ops unit of the military referred to as “Psy-Ops” used this technology to broadcast messages over the Iraqi loudspeakers that played alongside the regular Iraqi radio shows . The messages that were being broadcasted were telling the adversary to surrender and also eliciting feelings of fear, angst , anxiety and uneasiness. The next day before a single fire had been shot 1,405 Iraqi troops surrendered, including a general officer (Gulf War, 2010).
What I have found most interesting about all of this is how hard it is to look up conclusive data on the internet, whether it be through a school based website such as E-Books which allows access to an array of scientific literature to searching on google. If this technology has been around since at least 1960 that would mean research has been privately conducted for the last 50 years. In response to the creation of these types of weapons there have been more than a few treaties that have since been put in place by other countries as well as America limiting these types of weapons. One of the treaties that comes up often in the readings I have done refer to when the United Nations was established in 1945 saying that their focus was on “ saving succeeding generations from the scourge of war”, then in 1975 the Soviet Union proposed a first draft coming up with The Prohibition of the Development and Manufacture of New Types of Weapons of Mass Destruction and New Systems of Such Weapons ( Wall, 2010). Then in 1979 they added to their list of potential threats, these new threats of course including those talked about in this paper, also including radiological weapons, particle beam weapons, infrasonic acoustic radiation weapons, and what we are talking about now the use of electromagnetic weapons at certain Radio frequency radiations which could have injurious effects on human organs (Wall, 2010). In addition to the treaties that have come up, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Stockhom International Peace Research Institute as well as various other human rights groups have been closely watching to see where the research in this area proceeds too (Welsh, 2006)
While it may seem as if some large conspiracy is at hand if you look more into the topic many articles will come up about the use of this technology and if it has anything to do with the mandatory switch to HDTV that was put in place in Feb of 2009. There is also a system of Gwen towers that have been sprouting up across not only our country, but world wide which have the capabilities to transmit these supposed “silent sound signals”( Welsh , 2006). My personal fascination with this technology however is more toward why we haven’t tried to use it in a more medical mind-frame. I currently am employed by a company who works with many children who are non-verbal and I thought something like this could do wonders for some of the children. If its possible to re-create an emotion cluster and save it on a computer than transmit the saved emotion, then I would think there would be a way to do the opposite and use this technology as a way to enhance communication. However the purpose and point I would like to raise is how this could effect peace as well. From most of the available literature it appears that the United States has remained in the lead as far as advancing the research on Non- Lethal Weapons with Russia close behind, and yet if you go to government sites or it is brought up they will quickly deny it. Yet at the time this technology made its appearance in the public eye during operation Desert Storm it was vaguely commented upon then publicly denied by officials. Meanwhile other countries would be coming up with ways to keep the technology from being used against them, hence the treaty referred to in 1975 that was revised by the Soviet Union.
When I first read about Non- Lethal Weapons it was before I had researched this information in college, since then I have been privately researching on my own. I at first thought this technology would be a good thing because if we could stun our enemies without having to lift a gun or fire any type of weapon this could end present day bloodshed or at least minimize it. What is worrisome is the reality that these types of weapons can create, while the idea of global mind-control is far-fetched and at the heart of most conspiracy debates, if used within the created parameters or the known treaties I would see these types of weapons as a good thing. If combined with hypnosis who knows what kind of effect this research could have in the medical realm as well. With a disease such as PTSD what if we could try treating these soldiers through a variety of techniques where while they were talking in therapy they were also receiving positive messages in conjunction. As I have mentioned more than once Its disturbing to me that the government is the only one who seems to be doing anything with this technology, I hope to find a way to get involved to advance the research in a different direction. However whether used to help treat a disease, or help a non-vocal child become a better communicator, one has to wonder where this technology will come up again in the forefront of war. If we can simply get people to surrender through the use of subliminal messaging why do we still have so many troops over seas? Why are we not using this against those who we do not have a treaty with and have proved to be a threat to our country? I feel as though there is a huge story here and the opportunity for many advances if only the research were being done for this purpose. If anything I hope this paper has brought to your attention some of the amazing discoveries we have made and how they could be utilized in the medical field and on the field when it comes to war.
